Here’s a couple of photos from my time with Anne School.

I have to say, it was quite an experience.
I’m not sure if it’s related to their culture, but the people have this way of life that radiates happiness and joy.
No matter how rough the living conditions are or how tough life gets, they just keep their chin up, with a smile on their face.
Sister Franny told me that the most commonly used saying in Cambodia was “I’m fine”, which made sense because indeed, they always seemed fine!
The best way I can describe life in Cambodia is a chaotic harmony.
It is disorderly but that creates a feeling of unanimity.

Overall, it was a blessing that I had the opportunity to be part of the children’s lives, even if it was for a short amount of time.
When kids came up to me with severe injuries, those days were a little harder on me.
I don’t have any medical training and all I could do was the strict minimum.
However, what immediately cheered me up was just how unbothered these kids were.
If they had come up to me crying in pain, there’s a possibility I would’ve cried with them.
Instead, they came to me with a big smile and pointed out what was wrong.
Almost like brave little soldiers.

Thankfully, I had Seminarian Laurence by my side who had a little more medical experience.
It was an unforgettable journey that I will cherish forever. And I’m thankful for everyone that was a part of it.
